Beaded Dahlia Dangle Earrings
Warm, late summer colors and a love of dahlias were in the inspiration for these earrings. Beaded in circular brick stitch around a golden czech glass round bead.
After a visit to the late summer dahlia fields I came home with lots of ideas for incorporating their symphony of color and pattern into beaded jewelry. This design for beaded earrings is a Native American classic style, and suggests the expanding layers of dahlia petals, but in a simple form.
The method used is brickstitch, and the beads are stitched, like radiating auras, around a pretty czech glass melon bead in a medium shade of mustard gold. I love these later summer hues of rich subtle plum, mustard and turquoise blue. More mustard gold and a sparkly blue czech glass crystal is in the beaded dangle at the end. The earrings are lightweight, with an earthy but feminine mystique!
Length: From the earlobe these earrings hang at about 2.5 inches. (see picture)
